SupportOthers.online — Helping Kuwait’s Local Businesses Survive COVID-19 Lockdowns
Over the past few weeks, we’ve all been glued to our TV and mobile screens, watching countries all over the world deal with the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. At the end of the business food chain are local vendors like salons, laundry services, cafes, and restaurants. These services rely almost solely on foot traffic, and with lockdowns being imposed, they have been forced to close their shutters indefinitely. Many have employees who depend on them for their daily bread and butter, but they are left with no choice but to let some of them go due to the sudden and drastic decrease in cash flow.
During these hard times, it is easy and natural for us to look out for ourselves and forget that there are people out there who are dependent on us to survive. Many of us may want to reach out a helping hand but are unsure how to go about it. Bowaba has figured out a way the community can help each other ride out the storm together through our SupportOthers.online initiative.
Simply put, SupportOthers.online is a marketplace for digital gift cards created by Bowaba as a non-profit initiative. Local businesses have their listings of their services for customers to purchase— and redeem online or when they reopen. Bowaba has also teamed up with Tap— an easy payment gateway to facilitate smooth and easy payments through a single vendor. Businesses need to sign up with Tap to accept payments.
Through SupportOthers.online, the community can provide small and medium-sized businesses with a lifejacket to hang on to, until things get better.
No hidden charges. Bowaba and Tap will not collect fees on any gift cards purchased via K-Net during the COVID-19 crisis until further notice. All net proceeds and 0% Tap’s processing fees via K-Net , will go directly to the local businesses.
During turbulent times, let’s help each other out in any way possible; even small actions can make a huge difference. Visit SupportOthers.online today, to learn more about this initiative, and help Kuwait’s local businesses survive the COVID-19 pandemic.
